Aree archeologiche e progetto di architettura : Atene: nuovi frammenti lungo la via di Dioniso all'Areopago

The object of the research was to observe and analyze the transformations that have affected, over time, what is now recognized as the Athenian Walk, and in particular the stretch along the southern slopes of the Acropolis of Athens. The pedestrian route, created to connect the main monuments and archaeological sites of Athens, becomes an opportunity for the development of the architectural project. The research was fundamental to rediscover, first of all, the hidden traces of the past; subsequently, the urban transformations that have affected the area over the last two centuries were analyzed. These detailed analyses brought to light the events that particularly concerned four buildings: Casa Parthenis, the Domus Romana, Casa di Proclo, and Villa Kallisperi. The goal of the work is to bring back to life the places and the stories experienced, to respect the wills and to restore everything that has been forgotten.

Oggetto della ricerca è stato quello di osservare e analizzare le trasformazioni che hanno interessato, nel corso del tempo, quella che oggi viene riconosciuta come Athenian Walk, e in particolar modo il tratto lungo le pendici Sud dell’Acropoli di Atene. La via pedonale, nata per collegare i principali monumenti e siti archeologici di Atene, diventa occasione per lo sviluppo del progetto di architettura. La ricerca è stata fondamentale per riscoprire in primo luogo le tracce del passato nascoste; in seguito, sono state analizzate le trasformazioni urbane che hanno interessato l’area negli ultimi due secoli. Questi approfondimenti hanno portato in luce le vicende che hanno interessato in particolare quattro edifici: Casa Parthenis, la Domus Romana, Casa di Proclo e Villa Kallisperi. Il fine ultimo del lavoro vuole far rivivere i luoghi e le storie vissute, rispettare le volontà e restituire tutto quello che è stato dimenticato.
