The growing awareness of ecological limits and social inequalities challenges the dominant paradigm of continuous economic growth. This thesis investigates how the post-growth framework, which envisions prosperity beyond expansion, can be applied to the luxury fashion industry, focusing on the Italian company Brunello Cucinelli. Traditionally associated with creativity, craftsmanship, and exclusivity, luxury fashion offers a meaningful context to explore alternative models of value creation that reconcile economic resilience with social and environmental sustainability. The research aims to answer two questions: how post-growth principles manifest within a luxury fashion supply chain, and what implications they hold for business performance and value creation. To address them, the thesis bridges Sustainable Supply Chain Management and Post-growth Economics, proposing an integrated perspective that redefines performance through sufficiency, care, and well- being. A qualitative Case Study approach was adopted, combining the analysis of secondary data–corporate reports, literature, and media sources with semi-structured interviews. Data were examined through thematic coding to identify how post-growth values are reflected in governance, stakeholder relations, and production practices. Findings show that Brunello Cucinelli’s “Humanistic Capitalism” embodies post- growth ideals, emphasizing human dignity, craftsmanship, and community welfare. The company’s model demonstrates how luxury can align with moderation and qualitative growth, though tensions persist within a global, growth-driven market. The research contributes to both theory and practice by grounding post-growth ideas in a concrete industrial context, suggesting that luxury fashion can act as a laboratory for sustainable transformation, where success is redefined through beauty, balance, and human dignity.

Abstract
The research contributes to both theory and practice by grounding post-growth ideas in a concrete industrial context, suggesting that luxury fashion can act as a laboratory for sustainable transformation, where success is redefined through beauty, balance, and human dignity.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
