This thesis examines how local agrifood systems can enhance their resilience amidst escalating environmental, economic, and infrastructural pressures. It analyses the structural limitations and vulnerabilities of the current, predominantly industrialised European agrifood model, positioning Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) as a socially embedded framework capable of redefining production–consumption relations through shared responsibility, agroecological practice, and distributed governance. In parallel, it reviews the European Union’s Contingency Plan for ensuring food supply and food security, highlighting the importance of anticipatory governance, diversification, and coordinated multi-actor responses. From this overlap, the thesis develops Uppo, a service that supports direct consumer–farmer partnerships, collaborative distribution networks, and peer-to-peer sustainable farming training, aiming to build strategic relationships. Grounded in fieldwork at the Cresco CSA and a subsequent co-design session, the service acts as an enabling infrastructure that builds logistical, organisational, and knowledge-based capacities. By embedding contingency-oriented practices in community agriculture, Uppo illustrates how integrating CSA logics with EU policy principles can guide a transition toward more sustainable and resilient local agrifood systems.
Questa tesi esamina come i sistemi agroalimentari locali possano rafforzare la propria resilienza di fronte a pressioni ambientali, economiche e infrastrutturali crescenti. Analizza i limiti strutturali e le vulnerabilità dell’attuale modello agroalimentare europeo, prevalentemente industrializzato, e propone la Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) come quadro socio-radicato capace di ridefinire le relazioni tra produzione e consumo attraverso responsabilità condivisa, pratiche agroecologiche e forme di governance distribuita. Parallelamente, la tesi esamina il Piano di Contingenza dell’Unione Europea per garantire l’approvvigionamento e la sicurezza alimentare, mettendo in evidenza l’importanza della governance anticipatoria, della diversificazione e di risposte coordinate tra più attori. A partire da questa sovrapposizione, la tesi sviluppa *Uppo*, un servizio che sostiene partenariati diretti tra consumatori e agricoltori, reti collaborative di distribuzione e formazione peer-to-peer in agricoltura sostenibile, con l’obiettivo di costruire relazioni strategiche. Basato sul lavoro sul campo presso la CSA Cresco e su una successiva sessione di co-design, il servizio agisce come infrastruttura abilitante, sviluppando capacità logistiche, organizzative e conoscitive. Integrando pratiche orientate alla contingenza nell’agricoltura comunitaria, *Uppo* mostra come l’integrazione tra le logiche CSA e i principi delle politiche europee possa orientare una transizione verso sistemi agroalimentari locali più sostenibili e resilienti.
