The thesis project presents the design of a new university and sports campus for the city of Milan, located in the heart of the “Goccia” area in Bovisa — a site with a strong historical and industrial identity, now undergoing an extensive process of urban regeneration. At the masterplan level, the intervention stems from a coordinated and collaborative group effort. In front of the gasometers, a large green area opens up, defined by a new urban “head” that outlines its main frontage. On either side are the residential buildings and the university department, while at the center of the green core emerge two distinctive elements: the library and the University Sport Hub. Within this overall framework, the design focuses on the University Sport Hub and the Bovisa Student Housing. The University Sport Hub represents the core of the campus’s sports and social activities, conceived as a unified and recognizable structure. The key element of the project is the main hall — the functional heart — which hosts spaces for various sports activities distributed across multiple levels. Around this nucleus are arranged six tower-like volumes that house services, vertical circulation systems, and support spaces essential to the complex’s overall functioning. The Bovisa Student Housing is a residential tower designed for students and researchers, composed of two main volumes containing modular housing units. Between them lies a central volume dedicated to vertical circulation and technical plant spaces. The public base, developed over the first two levels, hosts coworking areas and a literary café, encouraging interaction with the surrounding neighborhood. The project proposal stands as an opportunity for urban and architectural regeneration, capable of re-establishing dialogue between the area’s industrial heritage, the new university functions, residential complexes, and the surrounding urban fabric.

Abstract
The project proposal stands as an opportunity for urban and architectural regeneration, capable of re-establishing dialogue between the area’s industrial heritage, the new university functions, residential complexes, and the surrounding urban fabric.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
