The present work is the result of the project developed within the Laboratory of Architettura delle Costruzioni Complesse II, later further explored within the individual disciplinary modules as the subject of the thesis. The project originated from a collaborative effort among students to design a masterplan for the redevelopment of the former gasometer industrial area between Bovisa and Villapizzone in Milan. The aim was to create a new university campus, along with buildings and public services capable of establishing a dialogue with the city. Within this context, the thesis focuses on the design of the new Science Park, a multifunctional complex strongly connected to the neighborhood both urbanistically and architecturally. The circular layout of the complex is fragmented to encourage distribution and diversity of uses, while maintaining its role as an urban hinge. The roof completing the composition reinterprets, in a contemporary key, the geometries of Milan’s industrial architecture that historically characterized the Bovisa area, thus reestablishing a connection with the site’s memory. The project represents the outcome of the integration of the various disciplines that make up the Laboratory — architectural, structural, technological, and systems design — together with the assessment of their environmental impact. Part of the work is also dedicated to the design of the residential buildings adjacent to the Science Park.

Abstract
Part of the work is also dedicated to the design of the residential buildings adjacent to the Science Park.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
