For hundreds of years, Turkish coffee has been more than a drink – it has been a ritual of connection, hospitality, and presence. This thesis recontextualizes the rituals surrounding Turkish coffee as an architectural language that invites people to take their time and rediscover the meaning of being together. Through the design of a spatial journey composed of three stages, the project translates the sensory and emotional layers into physical experience. The design aims to transform an everyday cultural practice into a timeless encounter within Milan’s fast-paced urban rhythm. Each stage explores how smell, texture, light, and sound can evoke intimacy while creating spaces that feel both temporary and deeply human. The simple act of drinking coffee becomes a moment of togetherness, where architecture translates into a shared sensory experience. Ultimately, The Art of Drinking Turkish Coffee proposes that rituals may have the power to restore a sense of presence and belonging in contemporary life, reminding us, as the Turkish saying goes, that “a single cup of coffee is remembered for forty years.”

Abstract
Ultimately, The Art of Drinking Turkish Coffee proposes that rituals may have the power to restore a sense of presence and belonging in contemporary life, reminding us, as the Turkish saying goes, that “a single cup of coffee is remembered for forty years.”| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
