This thesis was born from the will to explore and delve deeper into the topic of home gardening, an area that was almost completely unknown to me at the beginning of this journey. The initial intent was to better understand the dynamics, habits, and practices that characterize this context, where nature and the human being are uniquelyintertwined. As my research progressed, I became increasingly curious about the role that artificial intelligence could play in improving and simplifying everyday life. I therefore focused on how to apply AI even in areas far from the digital world, such as home gardening, where the unpredictability of natural events and the variability of environmental conditions are central elements. From this reflection and the research activity emerged the idea of developing a smart device, designed to offer a possible solution to some of the challenges users may face in managing a home garden.
Questa tesi nasce dalla volontà di esplorare e approfondire il tema dell’orto domestico, un ambito che, all’inizio di questo percorso, mi era quasi del tutto sconosciuto. L’intento iniziale era quello di comprendere meglio le dinamiche, le abitudini e le pratiche che caratterizzano questo contesto, dove la natura e l’essere umano si intrecciano in modo unico. Con l’avanzare della ricerca, è emersa sempre più la crescente curiosità verso il ruolo che l’intelligenza artificiale possa assumere nel migliorare e semplificare la vita quotidiana. Mi sono quindi focalizzato su come applicare l’AI anche nell’ambito dell’orto domestico, mondo lontano da digitale e dove l’imprevedibilità degli eventi naturali e la variabilità delle condizioni ambientali costituiscono elementi centrali. Da questa riflessione e dall’attività di ricerca nasce l’idea di sviluppare un dispositivo intelligente, capace di rappresentare una possibile risposta ad alcune delle difficoltà che gli utenti possono incontrare nella gestione di un orto domestico.
