This thesis investigates the mathematical and physical properties of a one-dimensional quantum Hamiltonian operator $H_\alpha$ comprising a pair of zero-range singular potentials of Dirac delta type. The primary objective is to study some notable asymptotic features of $H_\alpha$ as the interaction strength $\alpha$ tends to infinity. The limit operator, denoted by $H_\infty$, describes a system decoupled into three independent regions with Dirichlet boundary conditions at the interfaces. A fundamental spectral discrepancy emerges in this limit: while $H_\alpha$ possesses a purely absolutely continuous spectrum, $H_\infty$ exhibits discrete eigenvalues embedded in the continuum. We develop two different approaches. First, within the framework of scattering theory, we explicitly solve the scattering problem and characterize the resonances as poles of the scattering matrix, proving that they approach the eigenvalues of $H_\infty$ inside the well. Second, we perform a rigorous spectral analysis using the Stone formula to compute the asymptotic difference between the spectral densities of the two operators. We prove that the spectral projectors of $H_\alpha$ converge to those of $H_\infty$ with a convergence rate of $\alpha^{-1/2}$. Finally, a numerical study is presented to illustrate the behavior of the spectral density and the resonances for specific states.

Abstract
Finally, a numerical study is presented to illustrate the behavior of the spectral density and the resonances for specific states.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
