This thesis addresses the gap between the theoretical concept of Human-Centricity in Industry 5.0 and its practical implementation. While the importance of a human-centric approach is widely recognized, existing literature lacks consolidated frameworks to define the specific workforce skills required to operationalize it. This thesis fills this void by reviewing scientific literature and developing a comprehensive Human-Centric Skills Framework that maps competencies across the life cycle of socio-technical systems. To achieve these goals a systematic literature review was carried out following the PRISMA protocol. Furthermore, the study leverages an adapted version of Generalized Enterprise Reference Architecture and Methodology (GERAM) framework to construct a novel skill classification. The resulting matrix dynamically intersects four Organizational Entities (i.e., Strategic Management, Production, Infrastructure, Data & AI) with four Lifecycle Phases (i.e., Concept & Design, Implementation, Operation & Management, End-of-Life ). A key innovation is the redefinition of the End-of-Life phase, which shifts focus from asset disposal to the "lifecycle of the professional role," providing actionable competencies for managing workforce restructuring and ensuring long-term employability. Practically, this study offers a reference model that can support industrial organizations in identifying skill gaps and planning workforce evolution. Simultaneously, it informs academic institutions by outlining the essential hybrid technical-ethical skills required to shape the profile of Industry 5.0 engineers.
Questa tesi affronta il divario tra il concetto teorico di Human-Centricity (centralità umana, antropocentrismo) nell'Industria 5.0 e la sua implementazione pratica. Sebbene l'importanza di un approccio incentrato sull'uomo sia ampiamente riconosciuta, la letteratura esistente manca di framework consolidati per definire le competenze specifiche della forza lavoro necessarie per renderlo operativo. Questa ricerca colma tale vuoto sviluppando un Human-Centric Skills Framework completo che mappa le competenze lungo il ciclo di vita dei sistemi socio-tecnici. Per raggiungere questi obiettivi è stata condotta una revisione sistematica della letteratura seguendo il protocollo PRISMA. Inoltre, lo studio sfrutta una versione adattata del framework Generalized Enterprise Reference Architecture and Methodology (GERAM) per costruire una nuova classificazione delle competenze. La matrice risultante interseca dinamicamente quattro Entità organizzative (ovvero Gestione Strategica, Produzione, Infrastruttura, Dati e IA) con quattro Fasi del Ciclo di Vita (ovvero Ideazione e Progettazione, Implementazione, Operatività e Gestione, Fine Vita). Un'innovazione chiave è la ridefinizione della fase di Fine Vita (End-of-Life), che sposta l'attenzione dallo smaltimento degli asset al "ciclo di vita del ruolo professionale", fornendo competenze operative per gestire la ristrutturazione della forza lavoro e garantire l'occupabilità a lungo termine. In termini pratici, questo studio offre un modello di riferimento in grado di supportare le organizzazioni industriali nell'identificazione delle lacune di competenze e nella pianificazione dell'evoluzione della forza lavoro. Simultaneamente, fornisce indicazioni alle istituzioni accademiche delineando le competenze ibride tecnico-etiche essenziali richieste per plasmare il profilo degli ingegneri dell'Industria 5.0.
