This research explores the intersection of urban citizenship, the "Right to the City," and the accessibility of financial services as human rights for immigrants with legal status. Focusing on Iranian immigrants in Italy, the study explores how challenges in opening bank accounts restrict access to housing, employment, and public services, thus perpetuating social and economic marginalization. Using qualitative methods, including online surveys and interviews, the research investigates the systemic barriers to financial inclusion. In addition to systemic barriers, the study investigates how Iranian immigrants in Italy have developed various tactical solutions and workarounds to navigate the financial exclusion caused by the inability to open bank accounts. While these approaches may provide temporary relief, they often come with risks and limitations. Understanding these strategies is crucial for addressing the immediate needs of affected individuals and informing long-term policy changes. In the end, the study offers policy recommendations and actionable insights for urban planners, policymakers, and financial institutions, addressing both systemic exclusion and its cascading effects on immigrants’ rights.

Abstract
In the end, the study offers policy recommendations and actionable insights for urban planners, policymakers, and financial institutions, addressing both systemic exclusion and its cascading effects on immigrants’ rights.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
