This thesis explores the relationship between Interaction Design and User Experience in the redefinition of audience engagement in contemporary festivals, parties, and live music events. From the analysis of the Italian context, the thesis has identified a number of emerging critical issues, such as the algorithmic standardization of music provision, the complexity of event organization, and, above all, the increasing use of smartphones during live music events. By using the Double Diamond methodological framework, the project combines qualitative and quantitative research, mapping of the festival ecosystem, definition of personas, and the identification of design opportunities. The analysis points out how the intrusive use of smartphones changes the live experience into a mediated and documentary act, which decreases presence, shared attention, and emotional intensity. However, instead of adopting a prohibitive approach to technology, the thesis explores its potential as a design lever. The objective is to develop an interactive system capable of transforming passive presence into active participation, enhancing the collective dimension of the event. The project is conceived as a scalable, low-impact solution, particularly suited to small and medium-sized festivals, where limited resources and complex organizational structures make the introduction of experiential innovations difficult. The research demonstrates how a structured UX approach, based on the integration of technology, space, and audience behavior, can help restore audience centrality and presence in the live moment, transforming interaction into a catalyst for social engagement.

Abstract
The research demonstrates how a structured UX approach, based on the integration of technology, space, and audience behavior, can help restore audience centrality and presence in the live moment, transforming interaction into a catalyst for social engagement.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
