In recent years, interest in Linear Time-Periodic (LTP) systems has grown significantly across various aeronautical fields; rotorcraft and flapping-wing micro UAVs represent some of the primary examples of applications requiring periodic modeling. This thesis aims to replicate periodic behavior by inducing LTP dynamics along the longitudinal axis of a quadrotor. This objective is achieved through a Dynamic Inversion (DI) control law, which introduces periodically time-varying parameters into the otherwise time-invariant drone dynamics. This innovative methodology was implemented and tested both in simulation and on a real quadrotor, through flight experiments conducted at the Flying Arena for Rotorcraft Technology of Politecnico di Milano. Subsequently, the data collected from both simulations and flight tests were used to identify the periodic model employing the Hench algorithm for discrete-time periodic systems. While simulations provided a preliminary assessment of both the control law implementation and the identification algorithm, the flight test results validated their effectiveness and performance.

Abstract
While simulations provided a preliminary assessment of both the control law implementation and the identification algorithm, the flight test results validated their effectiveness and performance.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
