Abstract

Orthodontic treatments are based on slow, controlled motions over extended periods of time. These procedures are monitored every two or three months; we can infer that these intervals between controls are long enough without proper supervision, increasing the possibility of introducing discrepancies in the treatment plan trajectory. The deviations or mismatches may be produced by biological variables, unpredictability from environmental factors, or just not enough treatment adherence.
