In this thesis is characterized the effect of temperature on the corrosion resistance of austenitic, ferritic and duplex stainless steels, in terms of pitting potential’s variation. Potenziodynamic tests were performed on different steels at different temperatures (25 °C, 45 °C, 70 °C), that have determined how the aggressiveness of the solution changes with the temperature. The solution is composed of 250 ppm of sodium chlorides, dissolved in distilled water, and represents the limit imposed by the European Union to establish drinking water. It’s been used steel AISI 304, AISI 321, AISI 316L (austenitic), AISI 430, AISI 409, AISI 441 (ferritic) and EN 1.4462 (duplex). It was found that with increasing temperature, the pitting potential decreases with hyperbolic trend, then approaching an asymptote for higher temperatures.
