In recent years energy and climate change issues have moved from the sidelines to centre stage. In this regard both countries and international associations have paid more importance to energy efficiency and sustainability contexts that has been the front end for the preparation of action plans. In the light of these, industrial sector which is one of the most energy consuming area, focused on the energy conservation strategies that are developed by both the sector leader companies and associations. The reasons of this attitude are both cost related factors and environmental factors. Manufacturing companies, core of the industrial sector, focused on the energy efficiency approaches and made investments in order to reduce the costs thus reduces the prices and increase market share, improve carbon footprint and increase environmental awareness. The aim of this research is to analyze the energy management programmes and frameworks including the international standards. In addition to this, investigating the energy efficiency opportunities and energy saving techniques with regard to the manufacturing process of food and beverage companies are examined. In the light of those researches, a case study in PepsiCo Beverages Turkey is carried out.
