Quality Diversity algorithms have been used in numerous fields to find diverse solutions while still maintaining a high fitness score. While they have been used before to explore spaces related to video game content, very little research has been conducted regarding their use when integrated with Image Generation approaches like Diffusion. In this thesis our objective is to research the use of Quality Diversity as a tool for image generation and for the creation of complex tilesets comprising numerous images connecting to one another seamlessly. This is done through the use of MAP-Elites together with Tiled Diffusion to first generate Archives filled with images and then combine selected ones using given tiling constraints. Part of our research consisted in developing Fitness Functions, to evaluate the images, as well as Behavioral Descriptors needed to position them inside the Archives. These metrics later underwent a statistical analysis based on data we obtained from a user study.

Abstract
These metrics later underwent a statistical analysis based on data we obtained from a user study.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
