Numerical models of two different thermal energy storages (TES), constituted by two-tanks and a stratified thermocline, have been developed in the commercial code Simulink. These have been used within the framework of a small-size solar plant. Changing the simulations' parameters it has been possible to obtain a technical and economical comparison among the different results, based on the plant's cost estimation, on the profits made by the production of electrical energy in the Italian regulatory plan and finally, on the use of heat in cogeneration.

Abstract
Numerical models of two different thermal energy storages (TES), constituted by two-tanks and a stratified thermocline, have been developed in the commercial code Simulink. These have been used within the framework of a small-size solar plant. Changing the simulations' parameters it has been possible to obtain a technical and economical comparison among the different results, based on the plant's cost estimation, on the profits made by the production of electrical energy in the Italian regulatory plan and finally, on the use of heat in cogeneration.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
