Set within the rice landscapes of Lomellina, a territory shaped by water, cultivation, and seasonal rhythms, this project explores landscape as a medium for ecological regeneration and cultural renewal. Once defined by extensive monocultural paddy fields, the site is reimagined as an evolving ecosystem where forest, wetland, and community coexist through time. Developed in collaboration with Fondazione Darefrutto, the project proposes a gradual transition from agricultural uniformity to ecological diversity, restoring habitats, biodiversity, and the relationship between people and nature. Rather than imposing a permanent architectural object, it establishes a framework for transformation where landscape, water, and natural succession become the primary agents of change. At its heart lies the Kairos Void, a space conceived not as an absence but as a condition of presence where time is experienced rather than measured. Through pathways, seasonal activities, and moments of pause, visitors engage with the rhythms of the landscape and become participants in its ongoing transformation. As architecture slowly recedes and nature takes over, the project reveals a renewed identity for Lomellina where memory, ecology, and culture converge, allowing the territory to emerge as a resilient landscape.

Abstract
As architecture slowly recedes and nature takes over, the project reveals a renewed identity for Lomellina where memory, ecology, and culture converge, allowing the territory to emerge as a resilient landscape.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
