The findings demonstrate that natural-language descriptions contain concrete predictive value; when numeri cal history is insufficient to capture temporal dynamics, semantic information serves as a robust proxy for domain similarity to enable accurate cross-domain knowledge transfer.

Abstract
This thesis focuses on time-series forecasting under data scarcity con ditions by introducing S-VETT, an evolution of the VETT framework based on semantic domain alignment. The primary objective is to overcome the structural limitations of statistically-driven retrieval systems that fail when target sequences are too short to produce reliable metrics, providing a stable forecasting solution for cold-start scenarios. Experimental results show that the framework improves re trieval quality and forecasting accuracy in limited-data settings. Under conditions of extreme data scarcity, S-VETT outperforms the predecessor VETT architecture and the evaluated state-of-the-art deep learning models. The findings demonstrate that natural-language descriptions contain concrete predictive value; when numeri cal history is insufficient to capture temporal dynamics, semantic information serves as a robust proxy for domain similarity to enable accurate cross-domain knowledge transfer.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
