Accuracy of life prediction and damage evaluation methods is fundamental for the assessment of remaining life of high temperature component, such as boilers and turbines parts. Moreover, understanding of damage mechanisms involved during strain hold and in high temperature fatigue is a prerequisite for interpreting experimental ad damage models results. Several models were proposed in the last fifty years but only few have gained widespread acceptance among researchers. Of these, four have been analyzed and characterized through the construction of a database of LCF and creep tests on mod. 9Cr1Mo carried out in NIMS. These models have subsequently been used to evaluate creep and fatigue damage components of isothermal strain controlled creep-fatigue tests at 550°C and 600°C with different dwell times. Predicted lives have finally been compared with actual results.

Abstract
Predicted lives have finally been compared with actual results.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
