Sustainable architecture of a large scale

For me, architectural quality does not just mean the aesthetics of the individual building and its expressive appearance; my aim is to design housing which will create meaning for both the residents, the surrounding society. Or to put it another way, is to secure a meaningful interplay between the development and its environment. Inwardly, the buildings must provide a backdrop to the intimate private and social life in the development, while outwardly, the development must relate to and create value for the surrounding society.
