Fix. An approach to the earthquake for simple solutions

Fix is a project based in Istanbul, a city expecting a major earthquake within a short time. Regardless this fact, the locals fail to take necessary precautions to secure themselves and their homes, causing a high mortality rate. The project, which is a product service system, aims to be present in the homes of the citizens and, with simple but effective means, to solve the immediate problem of securing their private spaces. Fix is a service offered by Koçtaş, an important Turkish DIY chain, that, thanks to its strong presence in the country, promotes the safety of inhabitants of Istanbul through specific and certificated products, and a team of experts dedicated to consulting and installing of anti-collapse systems of objects.

Fix è un progetto che prende vita a Istanbul, città ad alto rischio sismico. Seppur con questa caratteristica, gli abitanti del luogo si siano poco adoperati per mettere in sicurezza loro e le loro case così che ne risulta un alto tasso di mortalità. Il progetto, declinato secondo la logica del product service system, vuole entrare nelle case dei cittadini e, con semplici ma efficaci mezzi, risolvere il problema urgente della messa in sicurezza degli ambienti privati. Fix è un servizio offerto da Koçtaş, importante catena turca del bricolage che grazie alla sua forte presenza sul territorio, promuove la sicurezza degli abitanti di Istanbul tramite prodotti specifici e certificati, e ad un team di esperti dedicati alla consulenza e all'installazione dei sistemi anti-crollo degli oggetti.
