Abstract : Industrial gas market is one of the stable and growing market , its a comodity which is used either directly or indirectly in the products or things which we use in our day to day life. With the growth of demand for various industrial gases for various purposes in industrial, medical, commercial and residential applications, it is evident that the growth of this industry is vital for the growth of the economy. Virtually all the major markets in the world in varying degrees rely on industrial gases to produce their final products or services. These markets from agriculture, oil and gas, mining to motor vehicles, food and chemical products etc., account for more than $9 trillion of total global GDP. In other words, more than 50% of the entire global economy is served in one way or the other by industrial gases. The world industrial gas market is around 75 billion $ (till 2010) which is expected to double in the next 5 Years and is one of the fastest growing market in India, China and other emerging economies . My thesis work is to analyse the Critical to Quality characteristics in the Industrial gas market , with results obtained from the customers of SOL group Italy, who deals with Industrial gases & services. There are around 200 applications of gases , which finds its use in almost all the sectors. So its highly impossible to analyse from all the end users .The main aim of this work is to analyse the CTQ's in the revenue generating sectors where Industrial gases are used in large volumes. So by doing this , we can analyse what customer's expect from us in each sector and how can we make them happy , inreturn we have long lasting relations with customers , thus boosting our revenues and reduce the costs associated with quality which means more profit. Though quality in gases is of prime importance, less research & work are being carried out ,so this work would be of great help to the gas industry and people associated with it.
