Abstract
The depth of the digital space and its cultural extension has activated a big conceptual and operational change in the field of exhibition practises. Museums of the future will exhibit the virtual and the real side by side, blurring the boundaries and creating hybrid realities characterised by involving visual and interactive experiences. If at the beginning the virtual was seen as accessories of real experiences, now it assume a personal autonomy. We are ready to forget the idea that the virtual exhibition is a simple graphic representation of the real one. The curatorial practise assume a new and interesting configuration in the web by contextualising objects within an hyper textual complex narration that offer new possibilities for the understanding of the historical and relational dynamics that lie behind the objects. Even if the transition of objects toward an electronic representation could suggest a loss in terms of physical experience, we should consider that "virtualization" describes also a world of possibilities. Before penetrate in the exploration of this big universe where everything confine and converge, is important to reflect about the factors that led the art system finding a new reality, sometimes parallel, sometimes alternative in the web. The reasons are traceable in a tension that travelled all the 20th century and found the biggest contentment in the century we are living. The virtual fulfils the needs of the art system to be mobile, for everyone, in a certain way viral and independent of the system itself.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
