By exploring the work of the main Japanese designers in relation to art, culture and history of Japanese costume, it comes out a strong relationship between the flatness of the geometries and those (de)constructed volumes, and between tradition and innovation, from the radical reinvention of Japanese techniques and traditional garments, such as kimonos and origami, to the technological progress in the production and finishing of fabrics.
