This thesis places itself in the branch of research regarding the safety of two-wheeled vehicles that is becoming increasingly more important with the aim of informing the driver of possible critical situations which the vehicle may be subject to. The work is aimed at developing a useful methodology for the identification of stability in real-time conditions, and has been undertaken in the period October 2009 - September 2010 in collaboration with the Professors of the Mechanical Engineering Dept. at Politecnico di Milano. During this period the dynamical behaviour of a motorcycle has been studied, with particular emphasis on the modes of vibration, and with the use of numerical and experimental data obtained from tests both on road and on track, it has been possible to hone a method suitable for the identification and verification of the stability of the motorcycle.

Abstract
This thesis places itself in the branch of research regarding the safety of two-wheeled vehicles that is becoming increasingly more important with the aim of informing the driver of possible critical situations which the vehicle may be subject to. The work is aimed at developing a useful methodology for the identification of stability in real-time conditions, and has been undertaken in the period October 2009 - September 2010 in collaboration with the Professors of the Mechanical Engineering Dept. at Politecnico di Milano. During this period the dynamical behaviour of a motorcycle has been studied, with particular emphasis on the modes of vibration, and with the use of numerical and experimental data obtained from tests both on road and on track, it has been possible to hone a method suitable for the identification and verification of the stability of the motorcycle.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
