The European project “Dream” deals with the reduction of noise and pollution product by the aircraft engines. The present thesis is set in this framework and studies the experimental investigation of the unsteady pressure flow field of a high speed low pressure compressor. The measurement techniques and the instrumentation used are given: fast response pressure sensor have the ability of measuring the total and static pressure as time-resolved quantities. Turbomachinery flows are characterized by high turbulence levels and fluctuations up to tens of kHz. These transducers are suitable for the detection of the unsteady pressure flow field since they have a bandwidth high enough to detect what expected. In the second part of the work the data analysis is described. The topology of the unsteady pressure field detected with the sensors is shown. The results obtained with different probes are compared for a specific operating point of the stage. As a future work remains the comparison with the steady and unsteady CFD numerical simulations.

Abstract
As a future work remains the comparison with the steady and unsteady CFD numerical simulations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
