This thesis concerns the advantages of the use of direct current in distribution grids, with special attention to the use of energy storage systems in these grids. The aim of this thesis is to show how a distribution grid in direct current, furnished with an energy storage system near the load, improves considerably the quality, the efficiency and the economic character of the system. To that end a model in Matlab/Simulink that simulates its behaviour has been realized. The model realized will allow the display of the performance of the various electric quantities of the grid depending on the type of load, on the dimension of the energy storage system and on the type of regulation which has been used. The four simulations carried out concern respectively: the peak shaving, the energy recovery in braking, the reduction of the flicker and the protection from voltage dips.

Abstract
This thesis concerns the advantages of the use of direct current in distribution grids, with special attention to the use of energy storage systems in these grids. The aim of this thesis is to show how a distribution grid in direct current, furnished with an energy storage system near the load, improves considerably the quality, the efficiency and the economic character of the system. To that end a model in Matlab/Simulink that simulates its behaviour has been realized. The model realized will allow the display of the performance of the various electric quantities of the grid depending on the type of load, on the dimension of the energy storage system and on the type of regulation which has been used. The four simulations carried out concern respectively: the peak shaving, the energy recovery in braking, the reduction of the flicker and the protection from voltage dips.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
