This thesis reports on studies to identify and reproduce the dynamical behaviour of the actuation system of a boom for the displacement of concrete. It describes its hydraulic system and evaluates its performances. It then analyses some of the alternative solutions which satisfy the dynamic requirements for the application of the control-logics previously elaborated and develops a non-linear numeric model which simulates their behaviour. Afterwards, it describes an experimental test bench, realised on purpose to characterise the model and, finally, simulates the dynamical behaviour of the whole system, made of the mechanical boom and the hydraulic system toghether.
