This thesis has been carried out to look at places where basalts are present in the subsurface. I am interested in investigating for water or hydrocarbon employing geophysical methods such as electrical/electromagnetic, seismic and gravity. The thesis describes basalts, its characteris-tics and uses. For groundwater exploration, I constructed a synthetic model of electrical sounding for water detection in basaltic formation. For oil exploration, the ideas behind my work have been used mainly on related problems elsewhere. It examines the seismic proper-ties of the basaltic rock, problems of imaging through it and how to solve this problem. My work illustrates how integrated geophysical approach will help image through basalts, as the use of only seismic methods is often not effective.

Abstract
My work illustrates how integrated geophysical approach will help image through basalts, as the use of only seismic methods is often not effective.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
