Temporary dwellings for new nomads

This thesis deals with the temporary dwelling solutions for the new nomadic people. Due to the rapid adoption of digital technologies, humans become less reliant to the fixed environments, they intend to move more frequently to work and play for economic, social and cultural reasons. Living life as a digital nomad is the ultimate lifestyle because they are physically, mentally and digitally free people. New-nomads maintain a flexible mind and they interact in a specific way with different cultures and territories. The choosen location for the project is Lille because it is located at the center of the high speed railway line network between the triangle of London, Brussels and Paris. Being at the center of a strategical network radically change the identity of Lille and makes the city as a new European hub. This thesis projects a designed environment for living in the age of mental, physical and digital mobilities. New-nomad dwelling has less to do with the physical property of the residence itself, and more to do with the personal, individual home which filled with memories and personal meaning.Their lifestyle represents their own life history as well as the history of their family. New-nomadic home involves a close relationship between the occupant and the environment that structures the individual and social life and binds the individual to his environment which brings the idea is shifting of activities that take place outside to inside the home. As a result, the significance of the exterior environment becomes as a realm of experience.
