Among the non-destructive analytical methods for the analysis of materials, one of the most widely used, because of the versatility and speed of detection, is surely the use of ultrasounds. This method is based on the emission of ultrasounds by a generator group, propagated through a transducer, which, also acting as a receptor, receive the response signal (echo) from the material. By comparison between the delivered pulse and its echo it’s possible to calc the speed of propagation of the waves into the material of analysis; making use of acoustics laws in the literature is possible to trace the physical and mechanical characteristics of the material passed through. The work was carried out on two main fronts: the research of the green density, using the laws of acoustics that link the speed of propagation of sound waves in a material to its own density, and the characterization of mechanical property of sintered. By direct comparison between ultrasounds data and those in the literature is possible to point out some coefficients and trace fitting curve between the two lines of data. The factory that has hosted the field tests (and more), can so introduce in the control phase an immediate and reliable ultrasonic testing on the details of production. For a future investigation, the use of this method for monitoring the sintering degree is proposed.

Abstract
For a future investigation, the use of this method for monitoring the sintering degree is proposed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
