Energy efficient manufacturing has become a main topic of interest that has gained significant attention from both academia and the industry, as it can reduce the significant environmental and economic impacts associated with consumption of energy. This thesis presents an analysis of literature on the energy efficient manufacturing field and develops a conceptual framework in order to identify the main elements for the integration of energy efficiency in manufacturing. The elements that emerged are: 1) barriers and drivers, 2) ICTs, 3) strategic approach, 4) supporting tools and methodologies, 5) manufacturing process paradigms and 6) manufacturing performances. Finally, it was suggested some directions for future research resulting from the six major research streams identified.

Abstract
Finally, it was suggested some directions for future research resulting from the six major research streams identified.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
