Green manufacturing e sviluppo sostenibile : analisi della letteratura scientifica delle principali tecniche di gestione delle operations impiegate per la riduzione dell'impatto ambientale delle attività produttive di uno stabilimento manifatturiero

Around the 80s the theme of sustainable development has held increasingly important in the business world. In the beginning, the main theme was to produce eco-friendly products through "clean" technologies. Recent years have seen the emergence of green management approaches focused on operations and the resulting shifting of the focus on them. This thesis aims to examine the recent literature on the subject of eco-sustainable management approaches and present an overview of the dominant themes and issues. The work resulted in an initial premise on sustainable development as viewed from the social and historical point of view and the description of the most important environmental certifications and regulations for firms. Then I searched for the most significant articles published in the last 5/6 years with a special focus for the last two years. The heart of the thesis is therefore the presentation and analysis of the most important issues related to operational management approaches with the exposure of the related benefits through case studies.

All’incirca dagli anni ’80 il tema dello sviluppo sostenibile ha ricoperto una sempre maggiore importanza nel mondo dell’impresa. In principio il motivo conduttore era produrre prodotti eco-sostenibili attraverso tecnologie “pulite”. Gli ultimi anni hanno visto la nascita di approcci manageriali “green” incentrati sulle operations e il conseguente spostamento del focus su di essi. Questa tesi si pone l’obiettivo di esaminare la letteratura recente sull’argomento degli approcci manageriali eco-sostenibili e di presentarne un quadro delle tematiche e aspetti dominanti. Il lavoro ha comportato un’ iniziale premessa sullo sviluppo sostenibile visto dal lato storico sociale e la presentazione delle normative e certificazioni più importanti in materia ambientale per le imprese. Dopodichè si sono cercati gli articoli più significativi pubblicati negli ultimi 5/6 anni con particolare attenzione per l’ultimo biennio. Il focus della tesi è quindi la presentazione e analisi delle tematiche più importanti relative agli approcci manageriali a livello di operations con anche l’esposizione dei benefici attraverso qualche caso di studio.
