This proposal aims to develop the theme of environmental sustainability in the design and management of automated storage systems miniload AS / RS and AVS / RS, focusing primarily on energy efficiency. First of all is developed an analytical model for the calculation of the power consumption of the system, in which the two components more relevant are considered: the energy for the operation of material handling equipment and the energy for maintenance of the zone of storage at a temperature that meets the cold chain of the items stored. As regard the operational design of a new automated warehouse or the management of an existing warehouse, it is analyzed how the choice of operational policies impacts on the energy efficiency of the system. In particular, we have focused on: the storage assignment policy, the dwell-point positioning and the sequencing of requests for storage and retrieval. Finally an economical comparison and an ecological comparison are made between system miniload AS / RS and AVS / RS, identifying, for different combinations of values of static and dynamic capacity, the cheaper technology.

Abstract
Finally an economical comparison and an ecological comparison are made between system miniload AS / RS and AVS / RS, identifying, for different combinations of values of static and dynamic capacity, the cheaper technology.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
