Abstract
The thesis presented in this volume is the design of a block in the City of Oggiono adapted to hold a service center. The communal Citadel is located in an ideal and strategic position close to the intersection by via Papa Giovanni XXIII, via Milano and via Donatori di Sangue. It opens towards the city center, creating a new square with a definite urban character. The municipal spaces and the library compare each other and they determine a modern architectural center with the town square in the middle, an innovative urban space destined to become a representative and dynamic site of the new municipality. There is a clear rational distribution of the project, with the formation of a new player in town able to order and make all the surrounding features interact in their structural diversity. The predominant color choice is white because it helps to keep the architectural elements alive and it keep the geometry of buildings much more readable, it makes the differences between openness and closure more obvious, between solidity and transparency, between linear features and planar elements, between casing and structure. Contrasting elements were placed in buildings with a red color to emphasize their importance, the Council room of the Town Hall which stands as an ‘democratic binoculars’ and it looks towards the city center, and reading areas of the library is as a new aggregation and municipality center. The project was designed with a dry technology with steel structure. This has allowed high levels of thermal insulation, assisted by a plant design for ensure the maximum thermal comfort to users.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
