In this thesis the adhesion phenomena in the Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) has been studied and simulated. First the properties of roughness have been described, then the contributions to the energy of adhesion, such as van der Waals forces and the capillary attraction, have been investigated. Then, has been described the procedure for the generation of numerical rough surfaces Non-Gaussian. Finally, has been simulated the adhesion processes between two rough surfaces, by a tridimensional Finite Elements model, at varying size, statistical properties that define the surfaces, mesh, roughness, distance between the two surfaces themselves, relative humidity, and contact angle.
