This thesis project, along with its research process, explored the actual debate about sustainable solutions for great event architecture. Starting from the question: how architecture for great event should be? The concepts of time, permanent, temporary and space were studied and analyzed in order to acquire a deeper understanding of the relationship between space and time, with particular attention to temporal statements. The analysis of past examples and good practices allowed me to define an architectonical language for what is perceived and built as temporary; the constant reference to compare them was given by materials and construction techniques. During the re-design process of the building (since the concept of the building was given by the preliminary project by EXPO´s Planning Office) a further study on temporary building typologies and materials became the project´s main directive. The final result provides a broader vision of the future of architecture for great event by incorporating a temporary language (materials selection) and sustainable design. Some special features included on the final version of the project, like using materials that are usually intended for other purposes, such as cargo containers, aims to inspire other architects and/or students, to keep-on searching for innovative alternatives to build not only architecture but, our future.

Abstract
Some special features included on the final version of the project, like using materials that are usually intended for other purposes, such as cargo containers, aims to inspire other architects and/or students, to keep-on searching for innovative alternatives to build not only architecture but, our future.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
