The Caimi swimming pool, which is located in the historic center of Milan and abandoned since 2006, has been transformed into a testing ground for the creation of a new temporary multifunctional space, using tanks as main area of intervention. The water, element characterizing the place before it was abandoned, becomes the protagonist of the space, which takes its shape through the use of modular platforms and walkways, placed at different levels in the pool. The project stands as an overlapping of spaces to play, stop, cross and observe. During the day it takes the form of a playground, while during summer evenings it turns into a spectacular space for performances in water. In winter, the pool becomes a place of peace and introspection, where the piers are used as a passing through a suspended and surreal atmosphere .
La piscina Caimi, situata nel centro storico di Milano e abbandonata dal 2006, viene trasformata in terreno di sperimentazione per la creazione di un nuovo spazio multifunzionale temporaneo, che utilizza le vasche come principale area di intervento. L’acqua, elemento che caratterizzava il luogo prima del suo abbandono, diventa protagonista dello spazio, che prende forma attraverso l’inserimento di passerelle e pedane modulari , poste a diversi livelli all’interno della piscina. Il progetto si pone dunque come un alternarsi di spazi di gioco, di sosta, di attraversamento e punti di osservazione sullo spazio. Quello che di giorno assume le caratteristiche di un playground, si trasforma nelle sere d’estate in uno scenografico spazio per spettacoli nell’acqua. D’inverno la piscina diventa invece luogo di quiete e introspezione, dove i pontili vengono utilizzati come passaggio attraverso un ambiente sospeso e quasi surreale.
