City frames, restart l'Aquila. Allestimento urbano diffuso per rivitalizzare temporaneamente la città, dialogando con l'esistente

The project starts from the analysis of the Aquila’s situation after the earthquake of 2009 and especially about the long times of reconstruction. The remark developed during the Final Synthesis Laboratory shows the opportunity of temporary intervention to obtain the repopulation of the historic center of the city, until the complete reconstruction of houses and commercial buildings. The concept of the project is to give a “new life” to abandoned buildings through the involvement of their parts such as doors and windows as surfaces for video projections. The videos, presented during the event, are obtained by an International Call for Ideas, focused both on the theme of the architectural reconstruction and the future of the city. The result is a widespread urban scenario composed of different places in viable areas that establish a relationship with the built environment, in order to promote a positive view of the future change of the urban center. The project promotes the idea of a city that can still be a place of exchange and aggregation both for citizens and foreigners, leading them to rediscover the places that usually are not covered. The project therefore aims to create a system of relations between both the interior and exterior of the buildings and among users, through a progressive deepening of the degree of closeness between the visitors and the built environment. The micro-spaces are designed as a representation of non-finished and work in progress forms and the alternation of reflections and transparences allows the creation of different relations between the buildings and the final users. The spaces is designed for emphasize the natural curiosity of visitors and they can be at the same time, the observer and the subjects observed. In conclusion the project is an event that can attract citizens and foreigners in the historic center in order to rediscovery the possibilities offered by the new condition of the city.

Il progetto nasce da una considerazione sulla situazione dell’Aquila dopo il sisma del 2009 e soprattutto sulle tempistiche a lungo termine della ricostruzione. La riflessione portata avanti durante il Laboratorio di Sintesi Finale considera la dimensione del temporaneo come una risorsa per la ripopolazione del centro storico della città in attesa della completa ricostruzione di case ed esercizi commerciali. Il concept del progetto è quello di ridare “vita” agli edifici abbandonati coinvolgendone alcune parti quali porte e finestre attraverso l’uso di videoproiezioni. Il materiale audiovisivo presentato durante l’evento è ottenuto tramite l’istituzione di un concorso internazionale di idee, al fine di riflettere in maniera propositiva sulla tematica della ricostruzione del centro storico dell’Aquila ed allo stesso tempo trasmettere una visione positiva e propositiva sul futuro sviluppo della città. Il risultato è un allestimento urbano diffuso composto da differenti ambienti, posti nelle aree percorribili del centro. L’intento è quello di stabilire una relazione con il costruito, promuovendo la visione di una città che, sebbene al momento non sia più abitabile, può comunque rappresentare un luogo di scambio ed aggregazione per i cittadini. Il progetto ha quindi l’obiettivo di creare un sistema di relazioni sia tra l’interno e l’esterno degli edifici, sia tra i fruitori dell’allestimento, attraverso un progressivo approfondimento del grado di prossimità tra il visitatore ed il costruito. I micro-ambienti sono stati ideati quali rappresentazione di forme non finite, in continua evoluzione, mentre i giochi di riflessioni e trasparenze permettono di creare relazioni visive sempre diverse tra gli edifici della città ed i visitatori dell’allestimento. La fruizione dello spazio e stata progettata per enfatizzare la naturale curiosità dell’utente finale invitandolo a “spiare” gli interni degli edifici. In conclusione, il progetto ambisce a creare un evento che possa richiamare l’attenzione dei cittadini aquilani e degli abitanti di città limitrofe verso il centro storico ed allo stesso tempo diventare un invito al ripensare alle possibilità che la nuova condizione della città può offrire.
