This thesis presents a novel approach for detecting nonstationarities in image sequences. We propose a general purpose approach, which combines features from computer vision and statistical techniques to perform dimensionality reduction and to detect changes in a data sequence (CDT and change point methods, CPM). We provide a formal description of the approach, resulting in a modular framework made of parametric macroblocks, which builds a hierarchical algorithm that relies on a univariate CDT for the change detection task, and a multivariate CPM for the validation of the online detections and for estimating the time instant when the non-stationarity occurred.

Abstract
This thesis presents a novel approach for detecting nonstationarities in image sequences. We propose a general purpose approach, which combines features from computer vision and statistical techniques to perform dimensionality reduction and to detect changes in a data sequence (CDT and change point methods, CPM). We provide a formal description of the approach, resulting in a modular framework made of parametric macroblocks, which builds a hierarchical algorithm that relies on a univariate CDT for the change detection task, and a multivariate CPM for the validation of the online detections and for estimating the time instant when the non-stationarity occurred.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
