Interstizi urbani. Paesaggi del camminare : forme, mappe, interpretazioni

In contemporary cities you can find a series of spatial transformations: visible changes which bring with them also invisible changes to the consolidated urban instruments representation. The various changes taking place in the urban, create interstitial spaces: urban landscapes visible just walking in the city that are interposed between two realities in conflict each others. To know, recognize and understand the morphological changes and social activities that create these spaces, has been necessary investigate the city by practice of walkscape (F. Careri) and adopt the vision of a new urbanism (A. Amin, N.Thrift); visions that allow you to grasp the hidden, but equally important, aspects of the city today: research, therefore, the relationship between the physical city inherited and contemporary city life. The definition of the interstitial space depends not only on its morphology, but also by how people with his behavior he lives and goes through space. These are areas of “borders”, which, in different sizes and space allocations, accentuate situations of transition and change with their intrinsic and not characteristics. Identify, map, and compare these spaces allows to understand how, in different urban areas, there are situations in which multiple aspects physical, behavioral, situational influence the perception of a traveler through space. It’ s not of fundamental importance unite these situations only from the point of view of dimensional space, but associate them and compare them in the way how they are perceived at the time of exchange.

Nelle città contemporanee è possibile riscontrare una serie di trasformazioni spaziali: cambiamenti visibili che portano con se anche cambiamenti invisibili agli stumenti consolidati della rappresentazione urbana. I diversi cambiamenti in atto creano nel tessuto urbano spazi interstiziali: paesaggi urbani visibili solo camminando nella città che si interpongono tra due realtà in contrasto tra loro. Per conoscere, riconoscere e capire i cambiamenti morfologici e sociali che creano questi spazi, è stato necessario indagare la citta attraverso la pratica del walkscape (F. Careri), adottare la visione di un nuovo urbanesimo (A. Amin, N.Thrift); visioni che permettono di cogliere gli aspetti nascosti, ma altrettanto importanti, delle città odierne: ricercare dunque il rapporto tra la città fisica ereditata e la città vitale contemporanea. La definizione di spazio interstiziale non dipende solo dal suo aspetto morfologico, ma altresi da come la gente con il suo comportamento vive e attraversa lo spazio. Sono spazi di “frontiere”, che, in diverse dimensioni ed allocazioni spaziali, accentuano con le loro caratteristiche intrinseche e non situazioni di passaggio e di cambio. Identificare, mappare e confrontare questi spazi permette di capire come in diversi ambiti urbani vi siano situazioni in cui molteplici aspetti fisici, comportamentali, situazionali influiscono sulla percezione di un viandante sullo spazio attraversato. Non è di fondamentale importanza accomunare queste situazioni solo dal punto di vista dimensionale/spaziale, bensì associarle e confrontarle per come esse nel momento di cambio vengono percepite.
