Luce

During the last decades convergence of design, engineering and architectural technologies has been experiencing a new practical approach in experimental architecture. In an era where utopia no longer inhabits the city nor its spectacular metaphor the exception can be recognizable in the production of structure dresses up as imaginary. «Luce» is a proposal for an avant-garde theater designed as a temporal, modular, adaptable venue where the utopia become reflected in the structure’s ephemeral apparition and transience presence. In «Luce»’s theater the architecture serves as a possible background, a setting, a building that can be calculated and transformed into the measurements and concrete materials of an often elusive feeling, where the architecture provides a stage for life within public spaces acting as backdrops for life's experiences and where the theater acts a metaphor for his beliefs. A productive structure where architecture end and the world of the imagination began. The characterizing concept behind «Luce» theatre had been to explore the emotive power of a space, it’s ability to aid storytelling and the possibility of be manipulated to achieve a dramatic purpose, within solid base principles and new experimental formal expression and technological performance. It is imagined to be built in accordance with principle of sustainability and respect for the environment, and constitute by low resource materials but in accordance with “tradition of the new”. The goals of the project are indeed at the same time to produce a performance venue of provocative and highly refined designs and to experience the significance of a new technology and it’s implications for architectural practice. The significant emphasis on the structuring logic of tectonics has result in an innovative structural approach. Since today we are experiencing a significant new wave of design in architecture, the project’s important shift has been fully defined as a highly dynamic synthesis of emerging principles of spatial, structural and material ordering integrated through the application of materialization and fabrication technologies. For these reason «Luce» has been a project for a theatre focusing in architectural design as well as highly technical in focus.

Negli ultimi decenni la commistione in un unica area di ricerca di settori quali design, architettura, progettazione tecnologica e ingegneria, è stata scenario di un nuovo approccio pratico, in particolare all’interno della categoria dell’ architettura sperimentale. Nell'era attuale, in un epoca dove il concetto di utopia non è più parte della città contemporanea nè della sua spettacolare metafora, l’eccezione può essere riconosciuta solo nella creazione di strutture dalla voluta apparenza immaginaria. «Luce» è la proposta progettuale per un teatro avant-garde temporaneo, itinerante, adattabile e composto da un struttura modulare, dove il concetto di utopia si riflette nell’impalpabile apparizione della struttura così come nella sua presenza temporanea. in «Luce» l’architettura è scenario, area di lavoro, edificio che può essere ridisegnato e transformato nelle dimensioni spaziali e temporali più appropriate e allo stesso tempo capace di delineare la sua percezione di entità sfuggente; uno spazio dove l’architettura accoglie un palcoscenico per la vita all’interno di spazi pubblici, dove la città reagisce come fondale delle esperienze urbane e dove a suo volta il teatro vi si riflette come strumento di metafora dei valori. Il concept principale dietro «Luce» è stato quello di esplorare il potere emotive dello spazio, la sua relazione con le caratteristiche e necessità per l’ottimizzazione adibita alle arti performative in architettura e la possibilità di manipolazione e metamorfosi a scopo drammatico, all’interno di solidi principi base legati alla tradizione e nuove espressioni di sperimentazione formale. L’edificio è stato immaginato per essere costruito secondo principi di sostenibilità e rispetto ambientale, costituito prevalentemente da materiali a basso consumo energetico ma secondo la tradizione più moderna.
