The aim of the present thesis work is the fabrication (by Pulsed Laser Deposition- PLD- and Magnetron Sputtering- MS) and the characterization of the mechanical properties of promising coating materials (Ti, Al2O3 and TiN) and structures (multilayers and functionally graded barriers) for high temperature operation of steels in heavy liquid metals. The mechanical properties are assessed by combining the outcome of nanoindentation and Brillouin spectroscopy measurements.

Abstract
The aim of the present thesis work is the fabrication (by Pulsed Laser Deposition- PLD- and Magnetron Sputtering- MS) and the characterization of the mechanical properties of promising coating materials (Ti, Al2O3 and TiN) and structures (multilayers and functionally graded barriers) for high temperature operation of steels in heavy liquid metals. The mechanical properties are assessed by combining the outcome of nanoindentation and Brillouin spectroscopy measurements.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
