Motivated by finding new solutions for water purification, this thesis bases on the implementation of two prototypical reactors for advanced oxidation processes. Previous results of TITANO, the container project funded by Regione Lombardia, are discussed to contextualize. A bench reactor at Politecnico di Milano and a pilot reactor at Ozono Elettronica S.r.l. were the subject of analysis. The reactors work with heterogeneous photoelectrocatalysis, with monochromic UV lights as the source and nanotubular titanium dioxide meshes functionalized by anodic oxidation. Using a model azo-dye (RR243), the bench reactor was described and fully operated while the pilot reactor was preliminarily tested. Both systems shine a light on future developments for this type of depuration technology with field of action also in destroying persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

Abstract
Both systems shine a light on future developments for this type of depuration technology with field of action also in destroying persistent organic pollutants (POPs).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
