In this thesis two different production techniques of solid propellants have been analyzed: resonant acoustic mixing and mechanical mixing. The main focus was to find any ballistic properties differences of thus made propellants. Formulation is the standard one used by SpLab of Politecnico di Milano. It is composed of 68% ammonium perchlorate (10% fine)+ 14%Binder(HTPB+IPDI+TIN in DOA) +18\%Aluminum. Three couple of solid propellants have been made using respectively: micrometric aluminum, nAl covered by stearic acid and the last with a mixture of powder composed by 15 parts of μAl and 3 parts of nAl. These propellants have been thus analyzed about their most interesting properties: burning rate, density and microstructure, this last made by optical microscopy (qualitative analysis). Observing the results of experimental tests we note that both propellants microstructure and ballistic properties are influenced by productive techniques.
