Abstract
Industries discharge remarkable quantity of heat into the atmosphere and require chilled water in order to cool process or machineries. This need is usually satisfied by compression chillers, which generate cooling capacity consuming high quantity of electric energy: a more energy-efficient solution could be obtained firing absorption chillers with rejected heat. This work describes how energy savings obtainable adopting heat recovery fired chillers should be calculated and their effect on emissions and management costs. Once the methodology has been described it is adopted for the analysis of two real case study, highlighting which are the thermodynamic and technological parameters that affect results.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
