For the collective imagination Mina is a myth. She belongs to that group of people who, through their extraordinary actions, are considered as role models by ordinary people. The aim of the thesis is the representation on stage of Mina – the myth. The project consists of the design of both the stage and the show. These two souls paint an intimate portrait of the artist, who decided not to perform in public starting from 1978, but still releases successful albums. To achieve this, we followed to paths. The first one is the technical design of the stage, having as guidelines the modularity and the repetition of pieces that make it up. Moreover, there is a special attention to construction details and the study of technical equipments such as audio, lighting and video - all supported by the contribution of professionals and companies coming from different backgrounds. The second path is the artistic design of the show, represented by the accurate choice of songs performed by Mina, to create the concert line-up. To sort this out we’ve decided to tell Mina’s story through songs like “Amore e Psiche” and “La metamorfosi di Apuleio”. The sum of these two paths is a stage that can host a polyhedric range of artistic performances, each one represented in specifically-designed places and supported by cutting edge technical equipments that allow performers to show various situations according to the music. On the other hand, this allows Mina to keep on being a myth for the whole community. The result to which we aspire is to show lively both, Mina and love, hence the title: M.I.N.A. ma io non amo!. This means love is a universal feeling that people experience in many different ways, making sure that the concert belongs to the audience and represents each of us.
