Key performance indicator design : Cavotec case

Cavotec is one of the most important suppliers around the world in the power transmission, distribution and control technologies that form the link between fixed and mobile equipment in the Ports & Maritime, Airports, Mining & Tunneling and General Industry sectors, their “Aim” is “Working together with customers”. The project was developed in one of the division of the company called Cavotec Specimas located in Italy, the group have decided to change its Information system; replacing the current one with a new ERP system (Microsoft, Dynamic Navision). The KPIs project born as a response to; the needs of being informed with reliable information, the implementation of the new ERP system and, as a support for the decision making process. This final report represents; a summary of the information gathered, the KPIs selection’ criteria, and a list of the most important and relevant indicators that the company will use from the kick -off of the project.

Cavotec è uno dei più importanti fornitori di tutto il mondo nelle tecnologie di trasmissione di potenza, di distribuzione e di controllo che costituiscono il collegamento tra apparecchiatura fissa e mobile nei Porti e marittima, aeroporti, settori Mining & Tunneling e Industria generale, il loro "Aim" è "Lavorando insieme con i clienti". Il progetto è stato sviluppato in una divisione della società denominata Cavotec Specimas si trova in Italia, il gruppo ha deciso di modificare il suo sistema di informazioni, che sostituisce quello attuale con un nuovo sistema ERP (Microsoft, Dynamic Navision). Il progetto KPIs nasce come risposta, le esigenze di essere informato con informazioni affidabili, l'implementazione del nuovo sistema ERP e, come supporto per il processo decisionale. Questa relazione finale rappresenta, una sintesi delle informazioni raccolte, i criteri di selezione KPI', e un elenco degli indicatori più importanti e rilevanti che l'azienda utilizzerà dal kick-off del progetto.
