A thermal system’s project is one of the best way to express all the potentialities and cruxes of Porta Venezia area as well as a good reason to replace water into the bastions system. At the end of the Nineteen Century, the water system of Milan, fundamental element for the city and its history, had gradually to leave space to the ground and to new urban solutions . Directly linked to the water system there are the ancient walls which often represent the canals’ rivers. Therefore water and walls are at the basis of the project together with the relationship between the ancient “Padiglione del Caffè” and the public garden. The project has indeed the privilege to be placed inside “Indro Montanelli” public garden and to expand into Porta Venezia’s bastions’ subsoil, strictly related to “Redefossi” canal. The part of the city where the water course surface again thanks to the project correspond at the border between the public garden and the bastions, so between Porta Venezia and Piazza della Repubblica. Close to the public garden connection tunnel, a platform allows you to cross the canal and to get the ancient boardwalk at the bastions’ level. From here it is possible to enjoy an amazing view of both “Redefossi” canal and of Giardini Pubblici.

Abstract
From here it is possible to enjoy an amazing view of both “Redefossi” canal and of Giardini Pubblici.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
